"Building From the Ground Up"

It was an eventful and fun February, with some really cool stuff! Keep reading to see :)

Building From the Ground Up

I wanted to start with a cool "walk down memory lane". When I was a little girl, I had a couple of cool, college babysitters. Brandon was one of those babysitters that would play hide-and-seek, and watch my performances on the fireplace. Now, Brandon is the director of FOCUS, and one of my bosses at UTD. I get to work with him almost every day as we do ministry together. I don't think
Brandon and I... probably after one of my performances as a flute player :)
either of us could have pictured getting to work together all these years later. We have a phrase in our ministry... "Building From the Ground Up". This picture is what it is all about. We have a vision of the kids in our church body becoming the leaders of our college ministries, youth ministries, and churches. I never would have thought that I would get to be a campus minister alongside Brandon, but it has been one of the sweetest blessings. So to all of those supporting me, thank you. It's because of your support that I get to do what I do with the people I do it with!

Birthday and the Super Bowl!

I turned 23 at the beginning of February! I had such a fun-filled day. Some of my greatest friends took me to a Harry Potter-themed Escape Room and lunch. On the day of my birthday, I went to church and a big Super Bowl party. My friends made me feel so loved and special. At the end of the party, they brought out a cake to surprise me. I am so blessed!!

WE DID IT!

My friend Stephen is known for his strawberry cakes. Zoe told him it was my favorite, and he made this one for me from scratch!

Showcase!!

Showcase was a HUGE success! We raised about $20,000 to help our students attend SICM. It was so much fun to perform, and I was so blown away by everyone's talent. We had a great turnout. It could not have gone better!! Here are some pictures.

"Somebody to Love" has a lot of "belt" moments... shown here.

COVID-19 Update

UTD has canceled in-person classes for the rest of the semester. Our students are switching to all online classes. We had our last Friday Night Fellowship (FNF) and it was pretty sad. Some of our students are mourning that what was meant to just be a quick trip home for Spring Break is actually the start of their Summer. Some of my core girls are going to come back to campus and continue to live in the dorm, so we will be able to do one-on-one ministry and hangouts. There is potential to continue to do Core, but there are a lot of unknown factors that make it hard to know for sure. Please keep praying for our directors as they make decisions on how we as an organization should move forward, and pray for our students as they navigate what the rest of this semester will look like. This is a scary time for all of us, but we will continue to put our faith and trust in Jesus!!

Thanks for tuning in this month.
