Fall Camp and Getting In the Swing of the Semester!

This is what we call, “Whoosh”. It’s the official sign of a comet! (The hand in front of the mouth is the comet, and the hand up is the tail following)

It was a great month! I’ve been so blessed by ministry the last couple of months, and we had our Fall Camp end of September which was SUPER fun and exciting.

Every year, we have an event called, “Fall Camp”. Our students encourage their cores (small groups) to come out and spend Saturday at 1 pm to Sunday at 11 am at a little retreat center about 45 mins from UTD. We go to the same place every year… and no, we do not camp! There are bunkhouses with beds that they bring their own bedding, and we supply all the outdoor games and sports and arts and crafts to fill the free time! We have six of our students give testimonies answering a prompt about difficult decisions they have made for God, and how they persevered in those decisions. Every year, I am so encouraged hearing from who shares. So are our students! We also do “walk and talks” where they pair up with someone from core and talk about what God is doing through their time at Fall Camp. We eat Chick-Fil-A for dinner, and have a worship/communion service “in the round” outside that night. This is a really neat experience because our students are in a “U” shape, facing each other as they sing songs about God to each other. It’s really neat. We end the night with a dance party, wake up and eat breakfast and do one more set of shavings, and then drive back! It’s 22 hours of nonstop fun and intentional community building and it is just a blast. Here are a couple of pictures!

So sweet seeing our students express their love for Jesus !

Say cheese! Our group photo of our UTD ministry at Fall Camp… we had about 150 students!

Prayer Request!

This year I lead a peer team of 11 girls! This is where a good chunk of my weekly time goes; whether meeting with them all together or meeting with 2 at a time who lead core together. I have an all-star group of girls this year. They each volunteer about 10+ hours a week to serving in our minstry, along with their classes, homework load, and even part-time jobs. I am so proud of them!

I wanted to ask if you guys would pray for each of my girls this week in your time with God:

-Pray for steadfastness for the rest of the semester. We have 9 weeks left, so homework and testing gets a little more intense.

-Pray that they would have their eyes opened to the needs of the girls in their core, and that they would be able to plan core topics around those needs.

-Pray that they would be genuinely loving their girls and pointing them to Jesus.

-And pray for me, as I guide them through their ministry and try to point them to Jesus in how they do their ministry. I also just want to love them well and give them my best!

Their names are Cathryn, Gracie, Rachel, Perri, Ally, Kim, Lailah, Zaili, Nicole, Olivia, and Michelle. <3

Upcoming Fun!

We host a bi-annual event for our ministry called Pizza Theology. We bring pizza and share a meal for an hour, and sandwich two hours of discussing theology on either end. Our staff is teaching this year about Revelation and the End Times… ooooo! If you’re in the DFW area and would like to come, info is below! We may also record it so let me know if you would want access to that recording. :) Pray that God would speak through our staff who is teaching, and that the students that will be there will have open hearts!

Information for Pizza Theology! It is Nov 13 from 4-9pm on campus at UTD!

I would love to hear about how I can pray for you, or anyone in your life! Please comment or respond to my email that I sent with any prayer requests, and what may be going on in your life to praise God for!

And thank you so much for your support in my ministry. I am blown away that I get to do this full-time… my heart is just so happy doing this, and I couldn’t do it without you! Loved you all!

-Kylie <3
