October Update!
October was so much fun. I just feel like the semester is flying by!!
The best part about October was our Fall Retreat! We call it “the getaway”. We have a retreat from 1pm Saturday to 11am Sunday at a camp about 45 mins from campus. The point is to connect the community at large, since they’ve been building connections with eachother on a smaller scale in core. We have 3 sessions with worship and a sermon, some free time with getting-to-know-you activities, and an AWESOME dance party. It’s such a neat time!

| Me and Alexis from my team of corefas I get to spend time with. It was a big hit to bring wigs to the dance party this year LOL |

| Kole (my youngest brother) and a guy he’s doing a bible study with this year named Adam! It’s really sweet to get to do ministry with him at UTD. |

My girls small groups are going well and they have established some consistency. They are also doing lots of bible studies with their peers!
A verse that’s been meaningful to me in this season is from Matthew chapter 6, verses 25-34.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
It’s just the best reminder that God is in control. When life feels out of control or like there are 100 things we could worry about, we can come back to the truth that God loves us more than the creatures on this Earth that he takes care of— why would he NOT take care of us? Particularly the part about “you of little faith”- yikes! I don’t like being told that I have “little faith” when I worry. But I have to choose to believe that God is always at work, even when it feels like he’s not or that I would be better in control.
I hope that that ministers to you as it has to me in the last couple months!
As always, thank you so much for your support and investment.
Love, Kylie

LOVE IT! And LOVE you!!
